01Quick Start Overview

RoRoster connects your Roblox group, in-game Roblox experiences, and Discord community into a synchronized command center. Unlike outdated systems, RoRoster has no dependency on bot accounts, passwords, or cookies.

02Roblox Open Cloud API Key Setup

To allow RoRoster to perform automated group rank updates, fetch group member roles, and verify permissions, you need to generate an official API key on Roblox:

Navigate to the Roblox Creator Dashboard → Credentials.
Click "Create API Key".
Under API System, add:
- Group (v1/v2): Read & Write permissions for your Group ID.
- Universe / Place (v1): Read permissions (for playtime validation).
Under IP Restrictions, add RoRoster server IP (or 0.0.0.0/0 if dynamic).
Save and copy your secret key into your RoRoster Workspace Settings.

Zero Account Risk: Because Open Cloud keys only grant specific API permissions, your personal Roblox account credentials and 2FA are never exposed.

03In-Game Luau Loader

Place this script into ServerScriptService inside Roblox Studio to activate in-game staff clock-ins, shift timers, AFK prevention, and the staff call dispatcher:

04Discord Bot & Slash Commands

The RoRoster Discord bot manages group role synchronization, shift notifications, and member lookups. Available slash commands:

/verifyLinks Roblox account via OAuth 2.0 and gives corresponding Discord roles.

/profile [user]Displays staff activity, weekly hours, quota percentage, and shift history.

/shiftsViews upcoming scheduled trainings and shifts with direct join links.

/rank [user] [role]Executes an instant Open Cloud promotion directly from Discord (Officer+).

/loa requestSubmits a Leave of Absence with start date, end date, and reason.

/clockin & /clockoutAllows manual timeclock punching for external or Discord-based tasks.
